ABOUT US

Elizabeth Racine, DVM

Practice Owner & Veterinarian

The Behavior Vet is owned and operated by Dr. Elizabeth Racine.  Dr. Racine is a small animal veterinarian with a special interest in veterinary behavior. She graduated with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Atlantic Veterinary College in 2017 and has since pursued ongoing opportunities for continuing education in the field of veterinary behavior.

In addition to her interest in animal behavior, Dr. Racine has also worked as a general practice veterinarian and understands the complex interplay of behavioral and medical concerns. Dr. Racine takes a comprehensive approach to behavior cases, assessing not only their emotional state but also their physical concerns. Dr. Racine works closely with pet owners and primary care veterinarians alike to develop a personalized treatment plan that fits the pet’s unique needs.

In addition to her work at The Behavior Vet, Dr. Racine is a general practice relief veterinarian.  She also runs The Veterinary Writer, a professional veterinary content writing company, and The Vet Docs, a veterinary information website. When she’s not in the clinic or creating content, Dr. Racine enjoys spending time with her own pets: a beagle named Dasher and four cats, Wasabi, Sake, Thumbelina, and Meow.

Jenna Jones, CPDT-KA, FFCP

Behavior Services Coordinator

Jenna grew up in rural Indiana where her interest in learning about and caring for animals started at a young age. She attended Indiana University where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Behavior. Shortly after graduation, Jenna began working in animal shelters providing training and behavior support for the animals at the shelter, as well as those in the community. In addition to working in animal shelters, Jenna has also spent time in general practice and limited practice veterinary clinics where she came to further appreciate the relationship between mental and physical health.

An avid life-long learner, Jenna holds additional training certifications from the Certification for Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT-KA) and Fear Free (FFCP-Trainer) and can often be found learning new and random skills and information. In her free time, Jenna enjoys kayaking, SCUBA diving, playing board games, and spending time with her partner and her dog Max.

Sake

Technical Difficulties Manager

Sake is one of Dr. Racine’s four cats and he has made it his responsibility to join every Zoom call.  His special skills include blocking the camera, knocking over full water glasses during important conversations, and showing you his butthole.  When he is not hard at work, Sake enjoys napping in his favorite window perch, watching squirrels, and being brushed.  He does not need any continuing education because these skills come to him naturally!
