ABOUT US

The Behavior Vet is owned and operated by Dr. Elizabeth Racine.  Dr. Racine is a small animal veterinarian with a special interest in veterinary behavior. She graduated with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Atlantic Veterinary College in 2017 and has since pursued a number of opportunities for continuing education in veterinary behavior, including attending the intensive NAVC Behavior Institute under the direction of Dr. Karen Overall. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Animal Behaviour through the University of Edinburgh.

In addition to her interest in animal behavior, Dr. Racine has also worked as a general practice veterinarian and understands the complex interplay of behavioral and medical concerns. Dr. Racine takes a comprehensive approach to behavior cases, assessing not only their emotional state but also their physical concerns. Dr. Racine works closely with pet owners and primary care veterinarians alike to develop a personalized treatment plan that fits the pet’s unique needs.

In addition to her work at The Behavior Vet, Dr. Racine is a general practice relief veterinarian.  She also runs The Veterinary Writer, a professional veterinary content writing company, and The Vet Docs, a veterinary information website. When she’s not in the clinic or creating content, Dr. Racine enjoys spending time with her own pets: a beagle named Dasher and three cats, Wasabi, Sake, and Thumbelina.
